As the days heat up and the adventures grow longer, we think your pup will need something to keep them cool and refreshed! Here's our list of tried-and-true recipes our furry friends can't get enough of.
Romee’s Pup Ice Cream
Who doesn't love ice cream? After a long day playing frisbee at the park with the Flyer Disc, this treat is always a hit!
What you'll need:
- 5 oz of Greek Yogurt
- One ripe banana
- ¼ cup dog-friendly peanut butter
- Ice cube tray
How to make it:
- First, mash up your banana
- Next, add the dog-friendly peanut butter and mix, mix, mix!
- Finally, add the Greek Yogurt to the mixture and stir until combined
- Spoon the mixture into an ice cube tray
- Wait for about 2 hours or until frozen- time to give your pup a taste test!
Sophie's Puppy Popsicles
Because pups deserve popsicles too! This treat is an Instagram-worthy one, and it's equally as delicious.
What you'll need:
- 1 cup of dog-friendly peanut butter
- 1 cup of Greek Yogurt
- 2 tablespoons of Honey
- Your puppy’s favorite chew sticks
- 1 banana
- Dixie Cups or small baking cups
- Blender
How to make it:
- Put together peanut butter, greek yogurt, honey, and banana in a blender.
- Blend until consistent and mixed.
- Spoon the mixture into small cups of your choice, about ¾ full.
- Time to add the final touch, place a bone or chew stick halfway out of the top for a treat that looks as good as it tastes.
- Put in the freezer for approximately four hours.
- Let your pup nibble away at this delicious frozen treat!
Taos' PB & J Treat Cups
If your dog loves peanut butter- this one is for them!
What you'll need:
- ¼ cup dog-friendly peanut butter
- ¼ cup of strawberries (frozen or fresh, whichever you prefer)
- 1 and ¾ cup of plain yogurt
- Cupcake pan
For the bottom layer:
- First, mix the peanut butter and ¾ cup of the yogurt into a blender and blend until smooth.
- Spoon mixture into small cupcake pans, filling it about halfway up.
- Put in the freezer and wait until set- about 30 min. (This could be your cue to take your pup on that walk you've promised them!)
For the top layer:
- Add the strawberries and remaining cup of yogurt to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Next, pull out the cupcake pan from the freezer, and pour the strawberry mixture on top of the peanut butter until complete.
- Put the tray back into the freezer and let freezer overnight or about 8 hours.
- Get ready to serve up! Remove the tray from the freezer and pop out the cups with a butter knife. Now it's time for a treat!
Riley's Frozen Watermelon Cooler
Keep your furry friend hydrated after a long day hitting the trail with this refreshing cooler.
What you'll need:
- Half of one watermelon with the seeds removed
- Water
- Blender
How to make it:
- Start by cutting your watermelon into small squares for the blender, be sure to take out the seeds as you’re doing this!
- Place your watermelon in the blender along with one cup of water
- Blend until smooth, then pour the mixture into an ice cube tray
- Wait for about 4 hours or until frozen.
- Once frozen it’s time to give your dog a treat!
Daisy's Blueberry Yogurt Breakfast Treat
A weekend favorite, this treat will put your pup in an extra good mood to start the weekend off on the right paw!
What you'll need:
- ¾ cup blueberries
- ¾ cup Greek Yogurt
- ½ banana- ripe
- Blender
How to make it:
- Start by adding all of your ingredients to a blender and mix.
- Pour into an ice cube tray and put in the freezer.
- Pull out of the freezer, and time for your pup to taste test!
